Product Description


This application runs in the background to periodically update Google Latitude with the iPhone location. It can be used for locating a lost/stolen iPhone, sharing your location with friends (via Google Latitude), or tracking the person that uses the iPhone.

FEATURES:

- NO SUBSCRIPTION !
- Runs in the background (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S only).
- Allows historical location tracking via Google Latitude.
- Location is never uploaded to My Locus servers.
- Configurable update interval of 10mins, 30mins, or 60mins (higher intervals are more battery friendly)
- Updates are provided without waiting for significant changes in location.
- Date/time of last update provided.
- Updates can be temporarily disabled.
- Location updates can be remotely disabled via Google Latitude.
- Secure communication.

Setup Guide


Setting Up Google Latitude account:

  1. Enable history in Google Latitude here: https://www.google.com/latitude/b/0/history/
  2. View the historical locations of the iPhone here: https://www.google.com/latitude/b/0/history/manage
  3. Optional: share location with friends


Setting Up My Locus App:

 Step #1 - Click "Sign In"


 Step #2 - Enter your Google Account (@gmail.com)


 Step #3 - Grant access to My Locus


 
Step #4 - Grant access to My Locus (once more)


 
Step #5
- Should see Google Account, close app


 




Disabling Location Updates

If you have access to the iPhone which is running the My Locus application, you can temporarily disable updates with the "Disable Updates" switch, or permanently disable updates by clicking on the "Sign Out" button.

If you do not have access to the iPhone which is running the My Locus application, you can de-register from Google as follows:

  1. Login to your Google account at http://www.google.com
  2. Click on "Settings", "Google Account Settings"
  3. Under "Personal Settings", "Security", click on "Authorizing applications & sites"
  4. Click "Revoke Access" on "My Locus - Google Latitude" and ensure that it is no longer listed


Privacy


The following steps ensure that your privacy is respected:

  • The first-time setup of the iPhone application requires you to login to Google and authorize the application to update your location.
  • No location data or user credentials are ever uploaded to My Locus servers.
  • Google Latitude provides extensive control of privacy settings. By default your location is NOT shared with any friends.
